Welcome to Coral Academy – a community of learners, parents, and teachers united in our love for learning. Our platform prioritizes a safe and respectful environment for all. Here's our Code of Conduct for a positive, inclusive and safe experience.

DEFINITIONS & INTERPRETATION:

Wherever used in this document, and except as otherwise defined herein, terms defined in any other part of the document shall have the meaning ascribed to them therein. The following are the definitions of the terms:

  1. “diversity or diverse” shall mean: The inclusion of individuals from various backgrounds, which include race, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, religion, gender identity, and social class.

  2. “secular” shall mean: We are neutral or unbiased towards any particular religious or ideological belief. We avoid promoting specific religions or personal beliefs.

  3. “inclusivity or inclusive” shall mean: We consider a global audience and our classes welcome interested learners aged 3 to 18 years. We believe in inclusivity of gender identity and refrain from using exclusionary language. We establish guidelines to protect learners and avoid portraying superiority or oppression.

  4. “age-appropriate content” shall mean: We include Parental Guidance (PG) statements for sensitive or potentially upsetting content in our class descriptions, as required.

General Principles

At Coral Academy, we value diversity and are committed to ensuring the safety of our users in every aspect.

  • Seeking feedback from parents, teachers, and learners, for making necessary improvements.

  • Creating and enforcing policies that uphold a high-quality, trusted, and secure community for learning.

Parent Code of Conduct

At Coral Academy, we value the partnership we share with you in creating a positive and respectful learning environment for our students. In order to maintain a comfortable and inclusive atmosphere, we request your cooperation with the following guidelines:

  • Help maintain a safe space for learners, families, and teachers from diverse backgrounds and beliefs.

  • Ensure learners attend class under their own enrollment.

  • Attire and Language:

    • Please ensure that, if your video happens to pass through the class, you are fully dressed with tops and bottoms on.

    • Avoid using any language that may be offensive or inappropriate for the class environment.

    • Be mindful that your words might be audible to others.

  • Background Presence:

    • As you move around the house, be aware that your background might be visible to students and teachers.

    • We appreciate your consideration in maintaining a respectful environment.

  • Learner Participation:

    • Remember that your learner is the primary participant in the class. We request that parents refrain from actively engaging as students themselves during the class

    • It is important to note that it goes against Coral Academy's policies for a parent to listen in or watch the class from a separate device.

  • Engage in civil conversation, demonstrating respect for different opinions.

  • Parents are kindly requested not to address issues on camera during the class.

    • While we understand concerns like safety or refunds may arise, our teachers will try to assist you in class.

    • If resolution isn't achieved during the class and you feel the need to discuss the matter with the teacher, please refrain from doing so on camera during the course of class.

    • Kindly reach out to us via email at , and we will promptly address your concerns with sensitivity, ensuring the well-being of all children in the class.

Note - Supervise your learners (from a comfortable distance 🙂) while they attend class until you’re confident they can participate safely and respectfully on their own. For older learners, this may take just a few minutes. For younger learners or those with behavioral challenges, you may need to be nearby for every class. You know your children best!

Learner Code of Conduct

  • Only learners within the age group of 5-18 years can attend classes at Coral Academy.

  • Be kind and help all learners feel welcome and included.

  • Be respectful, treating others how you want to be treated.

  • For your safety, we request you to join the class with your video on for learner identity verification. After confirmation, while you may join with the camera off, we recommend keeping your camera on for an enhanced learning experience.

  • Keep personal information private and refrain from asking other learners for theirs.

  • Show up for your class; many classes depend on group conversation, and the absence of a single student can have a big impact.

  • Kindly refrain from interfering with the conduct or execution of the class to ensure a smooth learning experience for all.

  • Learners should only attend class under their own enrollment, as themselves. It violates Coral Academy’s policy for a learner to use another learner’s enrollment to attend class.

This allows us to verify the learner through a video check-in by a member of our support team before the class begins. Once verified, the learner will no longer be required to turn on their camera for video verification at the start of each class.

(Please note that this provision is only applicable in exceptional cases, and requests will be subject to approval. Parents will be notified if such an arrangement can be made.)

Enforcement

Coral Academy expects all members to assume positive intentions, promoting a culture of goodwill. However, cases of harmful or inappropriate behavior towards users, community, employees, or the ecosystem, will result in removal from the platform. Actions will be evaluated based on severity and recurrence.

Note: This Code of Conduct is effective immediately and subject to updates for the ongoing safety and well-being of the community.
